Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Social Housing Contractor

Walker & Sloan are recruiting an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a reputable social housing contractor based near Llantwit Major, working on refurbishment and planned maintenance projects across South Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the affordable housing sector, with plenty of training and mentorship provided.

Main duties:
✅ Supporting Quantity Surveyors with measurements and valuations
✅ Assisting with subcontractor procurement and payment runs
✅ Attending project meetings and preparing cost reports
✅ Helping prepare tenders and assisting with estimating

Requirements:

• 1–3 years experience as a Trainee or Assistant QS

• Construction qualification (HNC, HND or degree) beneficial

• Enthusiastic and keen to learn

• Good communication and numeracy skills
