Are you an experienced Bid Manager who thrives in high-stakes, technically demanding sectors? Do you enjoy shaping winning strategies for complex projects where quality, compliance, and clarity are critical?
I’m working with a best-in-class regional contractor to recruit a Bid Manager to support their continued growth across the data centre and defence sectors. This business has built a strong reputation for delivering mission-critical projects and is known for its professional approach, technical capability, and collaborative culture.
Based ideally out of their Bath office, this role will play a key part in securing future work across some of the most secure and resilient sectors in construction.
🏗️ The Role
As Bid Manager, you will take full ownership of the bid process from early engagement through to submission, managing multidisciplinary inputs and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and compelling tenders.
You will work closely with pre-construction, commercial, design, and operational teams to develop winning bid strategies that align with client requirements and the business’s strengths.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end bid processes for data centre and defence projects
- Developing bid strategies, win themes, and submission plans
- Coordinating inputs from internal teams and external partners
- Ensuring compliance with technical, commercial, and security requirements
- Managing bid programmes, reviews, and governance processes
- Producing high-quality written content and overseeing bid documentation
- Supporting client engagement and post-bid presentations
✅ Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as a Bid Manager within construction or engineering
- Background working on data centres, defence, or other regulated / mission-critical sectors
- Strong understanding of tender processes, governance, and compliance
- Excellent written, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
- Comfortable managing complex bids with multiple workstreams
- Able to operate calmly and effectively under pressure and deadlines
