Our housing client is looking for a committed and customer-focused Damp and Mould Surveyor to join their Homes Directorate and play a vital role in ensuring our residents live in safe, warm and healthy homes.

About the Role

As our Damp and Mould Surveyor, you will provide expert technical guidance on damp, condensation and mould (D&M) issues across our housing stock. You will deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service by diagnosing problems, specifying remedial works, and ensuring repairs are carried out to the highest standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service to residents, leaseholders, colleagues and stakeholders.

  • Diagnose damp, mould and condensation issues and produce accurate, professional reports and specifications.

  • Raise orders, supervise and monitor contractors, and carry out pre- and post-works inspections.

  • Contribute to disrepair cases, preparing technical reports, cost forecasts and evidence. 

  • Monitor progress of D&M and disrepair cases to prevent escalation or customer dissatisfaction.

  • Assist responsive repairs and major works teams, suggesting positive and effective solutions.

  • Support stock condition surveys and HHSRS assessments, ensuring accurate recording of D&M issues.

  • Ensure compliance with CDM, Health & Safety, Building Regulations and Homes England standards.


About You 

  • HNC, HND, or relevant training/experience in a building discipline

  • Experience delivering excellent customer service, even under pressure

  • Strong experience in reactive maintenance, diagnosing issues and specifying repairs

  • Experience in D&C or damp and mould inspections

  • Good understanding of landlord responsibilities, repairs legislation and building regulations

  • Ability to produce high-quality reports and documentation

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Ability to manage a busy workload and work effectively in a reactive environment

  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and housing management systems

  • Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to sites
