The Opportunity

A great opportunity to join a well-established regional contractor within their General Works division, pricing a consistent flow of new build, refurbishment and small works projects typically up to £2m in value.

You’ll play a key role in securing future workload by producing accurate, competitive tenders and supporting the wider pre-construction team. This position suits someone who enjoys variety, autonomy and working on multiple tenders simultaneously.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

• Preparing tenders, cost plans and pricing documents.

• Assessing drawings, specifications and client requirements.

• Conducting take-offs and bill preparation.

• Liaising with supply chain partners for quotations.

• Assisting with procurement strategies and value engineering.

• Supporting handovers to the operations team following tender award.

• Maintaining accurate tender records and documentation.

• Working closely with the General Works and commercial teams.

About You

• Experience as an Estimator within construction (general works, refurbishments or small works preferred).

• Strong understanding of construction costs, materials and procurement.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Confident producing detailed take-offs and pricing schedules.

• Excellent organisation and accuracy under pressure.

• Strong communication skills and supply chain relationships.

• Good IT skills (Excel, estimating software, digital take-off tools).
