The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Estimator to join a well-established M&E contractor specialising in large-scale residential, student accommodation and hotel developments.

You’ll be part of a highly successful pre-construction team, responsible for preparing competitive tenders and cost plans on technically complex building services projects. This role offers strong long-term career prospects within a respected contractor delivering major projects nationwide.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for:

• Producing detailed mechanical tender bids and cost plans.

• Managing the tender process to meet deadlines and quality standards.

• Attending mid-tender and post-tender meetings.

• Managing post-tender commercial control and negotiation.

• Liaising with clients, consultants and project stakeholders.

• Issuing enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers.

• Reviewing and analysing supply chain returns.

• Working closely with electrical and wider M&E estimating teams.

• Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.

About You

• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services.

• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systems.

• Good understanding of electrical services coordination.

• Experience working on residential, hotel or student accommodation projects preferred.

• Commercially aware with strong analytical skills.

• Experience using estimating software (Trimble preferred).

• Strong communication and organisational skills.
