About the Role
Walker & Sloan are representing a well-established interior fit-out contractor looking to appoint a Preconstruction Manager to lead their front-end project strategy and coordination. This is a strategic role focused on taking projects from client enquiry through to construction start.
You’ll manage bids, coordinate design, programming, and estimating efforts, and act as the glue between client expectations and delivery feasibility.
Key Responsibilities
📐 Front-End Project Leadership

Oversee all preconstruction activity, from initial brief to contract award

Ensure full understanding of client needs and align delivery plans accordingly

Translate early-stage designs into viable, buildable solutions
🤝 Client & Stakeholder Coordination

Liaise with clients, designers, and commercial teams

Lead internal pre-start meetings and project reviews

Present preconstruction plans and risk assessments clearly and confidently
💼 Commercial & Technical Oversight

Coordinate estimating and procurement strategies

Ensure clarity on programme, design constraints, and scope

Maintain accuracy of cost plans and risk registers
What We’re Looking For
✅ Proven experience in a Preconstruction Manager or Design Manager role within fit-out or construction
✅ Strong technical knowledge and commercial acumen
✅ Excellent communication and presentation skills
✅ Ability to lead cross-functional teams through early-stage project phases
✅ Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning tools
