Senior Chartered Building Surveyor

Location: Exeter

Salary: Up to £59,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9–5 (with flexible working)

 

A national, award-winning property consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join its Exeter-based team on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Role

As a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor, you will work alongside a team of expert, multi-disciplinary property professionals, providing technical and commercial advice across a broad range of surveying disciplines including condition surveys, asbestos compliance, access audits, and fire risk assessments.

This is a varied and senior-level role offering involvement in diverse and high-quality projects. Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking technical due diligence surveys for commercial and residential properties
  • Preparing specifications, drawings, and risk assessments for new build and refurbishment projects
  • Carrying out site inspections including condition surveys, schedules of condition, dilapidations, measured surveys, and defect analysis
  • Leading quality assurance across projects and services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and client requirements
  • Collating, presenting, and advising on findings to internal and external stakeholders, providing clear solutions and recommendations

About You

You will bring extensive experience within building surveying and demonstrate:

  • Professional Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a similar senior building surveying role
  • Experience across a range of new build and refurbishment projects
  • Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and relevant construction and surveying legislation
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work autonomously or within a large multi-disciplinary team
  • Full UK Driving License
